The best travel and lifestyle blogs to discover Vienna, according to, uh, me, a travel blogger in Vienna!
Being a travel writer and blogger, I spend faaaar too much of my time reading other blogs – particularly blogs about my adopted hometown Vienna. While I adore putting together helpful posts, in-depth e-books and telling funny stories about our life in Vienna, it’s always fun to see what other blogs about the city are saying. So I thought I’d share my current collection of the Best blogs about Vienna for you to enjoy.
Best Vienna Blogs
If you haven’t seen Silia’s dreamy photography and images of Vienna and her travels, oh boy you’re in for a treat. She takes gorgeous images of luxury living and quaint cafes around Vienna and shares them in lush detail on her blog. Definitely an image heavy blog, you’ll get lost in the fantasy of the small moments she captures in Vienna (and now, around the world!).
I’ve been following Silia since way back when, and even attended one of her blog readers meetups in 2014, so can confirm she’s as lovely as her photography is beautiful! Definitely check her blog for some pretty escapism.
Greg’s fantastic Vienna blog is all about luxury lifestyle – he knows and works with all the big names and has a nose for the finer things in life. You might know him from his massive Instagram or have seen him at various events and openings around the city, where he’s always the friendliest Viennese in the room.

Greg is also an event speaker and brand ambassador for IWC Schaffhausen watches and the Ritz Carlton hotel. So if you want the inside word on luxury living, he’s your guy! I’ve met Greg personally and can confirm he’s not only absolutely lovely, but knows his luxury lifestyle and photography better than anyone in town right now. Check him out for all things fancy and luxury in Vienna (because lord knows I’m not fancy enough to be a luxury gal on this blog!)
Sisters Una and Isadora have a beautifully clean and bright blog about fashion and lifestyle in Vienna, with plenty of travel inspiration too. Juggling blog life and study, they still manage to put together gorgeous outfits and share stories from their glamorous travels.
Both girls also speak multiple languages including Serbian, English, German, French and Russian so you know they’re smart cookies and their Instagram shows the best of their photography skills too.

This is a hugely comprehensive resource blog on Vienna activities. Written by lifelong Viennese Barbara, it has guides, offers travel planning and is sort of like a mini Wikipedia of Vienna. Her
Her Vienna Tourism Calendar is always worth checking if you want to know what’s up in the city when you’re visiting. I find this blog very straightforward and to the point (like most things Viennese!) and if you want the facts about something in Vienna here is the place to find them.
This is a very practical website if you have questions about something specifically Viennese.
For fun and quirky event guides to the city, you can’t go past Vienna Würstlestand. Founded by a fellow Aussie, Jacob Moss, with some local compatriots, I love the cheeky writing style and hipster cool of this blogazine. Their weekly event guides will keep you busy even on the weekends you want to hibernate, and their community on Facebook is huge and very engaging.

With these guys it’s the simple things you’ll enjoy – they post a daily ‘good morning’ Facebook photo and often host collaborative events in the city and their Instagram is filled with photos of regular quirky Viennese moments – a refreshing change from overly edited perfectionism of most Instagram feeds these days! I love the Würstlestand and you will too.
Michelle gives some great perspectives on Vienna as an American expat and has some fab guides to the city, including her ‘Vienna for Teachers’ article.
Her Instagram is filled with colorful snapshots from around the city and her honest take on different cafes and places to eat around town.
Holly’s blog is the perfect mix of expat living with kids, and honest accounts of her personal struggles with anxiety as an expat – plus a lot of mentions of her favorite cafes! I adore her perspective as a mum living in Vienna, and am frankly in awe of her setting up UShine Vienna, a community and support network for people struggling with anxiety and mental health in Vienna.
Having people in my life who struggle with depression, I think it’s so important to create spaces in a city like Vienna, and I just love watching Holly’s Instagram stories and reading her blog posts for some everyday living in Vienna
Well, duh, of course I’m going to say this blog is one of the best about living in Vienna! My Vienna blogs focus is on the best brunch spots and honest guides to living in & visiting the city.
It’s made for people who love local experiences, wine dates & brunch with friends, boutique hotels and a little bit of hipster style. I love showing the ‘other’ side of Vienna – beyond the palaces and classical music clichés, to the real fun stuff.
Whatever style blog you prefer to read, you’ll likely be able to find a Vienna blog to suit your taste. Of course if you have any questions about the city just pop it in the comments below and I’m always happy to help 🙂 Hope you enjoy all of these fantastic Vienna city blogs!
